Senior Electrical Engineer
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Key Responsibilities
Lead electrical engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Develop electrical systems for pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing facilities, including power distribution, control systems, and automation.
Ensure designs meet regulatory and safety standards (ATEX, IEC, ISO 13849).
Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and develop innovative solutions.
Prepare detailed engineering reports, technical drawings and support the creation of validation documentation (URS, DQ, FAT, SAT, etc.).
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for electrical systems.
Coordinate with mechanical, automation, and process engineers to develop integrated solutions.
Guide junior and intermediate engineers, review their work, and provide training on industry standards.
Oversee supplier selection, review technical specifications, and manage contractor performance.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and regulatory changes within the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.
Apply deep knowledge of wiring requirements and ATEX calculations for instrumentation loops.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior/lead role within the medical device or pharmaceutical sector.
Deep knowledge of IS 10101 standards.
Strong experience with power distribution, PLCs, SCADA, BMS, EMS, and automation within regulated industries.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, EPLAN, or similar design tools.
Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
Proven leadership and communication skills, including mentoring junior engineers.
Certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent are preferred.
