Job Description
Manager, Alliance and Collaborations Accounting – Cork
We are based in Cork and work within the broader U.S. Controllership team. The role reports to the Alliance and Collaborations Director in Cork and will work closely with cross-functional business partners, supporting the accounting, control and reporting activities of the region and contributing to the quality of information reported in regional and consolidated financial statements and other management reporting packages.
This role is ideal for an accounting professional looking to expand technical experience while gaining exposure to complex accounting operations and disclosures in related sections of SEC filings. You will develop working relationships with cross-functional partners and various levels of management.
Responsibilities
* Support the end-to-end alliance and collaborations accounting and reporting process
* Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end close activities for assigned accounts (e.g. journal entries, account reconciliations, royalty payments, etc.)
* Analyze and prepare variance explanations
* Prepare external filing and management reporting schedules
* Manage and coordinate related incoming and outgoing payments
* Maintain appropriate internal controls for areas of responsibility
* Support the preparation of the budget/forecast
* Work closely with cross-functional teams including Alliance Management, FP&A, Corporate Development, Technical Accounting, Legal and various internal/external business partners
* Support contract compliance and interpretation of royalty or other financial terms
* Assist with various ad hoc projects/initiatives
Qualifications
* Extensive experience
* Big 4 trained
* Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) or equivalent qualification
* BA or BSc degree (or international equivalent) in accounting or equivalent
* Experience with/in multi-national organization
* Experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry is preferred
* Attention to detail, organized and thorough
* Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership
* Highly analytical and a resourceful self-starter with excellent research capabilities, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
* Ability to work cohesively in a team environment
* Clear communicator (written and verbal) and have excellent interpersonal skills
* Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and other systems in general is preferred; Data analytics skills is a plus
* Proficiency with systems (e.g., Alliant, Oracle/SAP, Hyperion) preferred
* Hands-on operational experience in collaboration and alliance arrangements preferred
