Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Manufacturing Automation Engineer to lead and support automation projects that enhance manufacturing efficiency, compliance, and scalability. You will play a key role in the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of automated systems across our highly regulated production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead automation projects from concept through to validation and implementation, ensuring compliance with GMP, FDA, and ISO 13485 standards.
* Design and develop robust, scalable automation solutions using PLCs, SCADA systems, robotics, vision systems, and MES platforms.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, validation, and R&D to integrate automation with existing and new product lines.
* Provide technical leadership in root cause analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., OEE, yield improvement).
* Manage external vendors and system integrators to deliver high-quality automation systems on schedule and budget.
* Develop and maintain detailed documentation including URS, FDS, FAT, SAT, and IQ/OQ/PQ protocols.
* Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge-sharing within the team.
* Contribute to strategic planning of automation technology roadmaps and digital transformation initiatives (e.g., Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing).
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
* 8+ years of experience in automation engineering within a regulated manufacturing environment; medical device or pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred.
* Proven expertise in programming and troubleshooting PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), SCADA, HMIs, and control networks.
* Familiarity with robotics, machine vision, servo systems, and industrial communication protocols.
* Strong understanding of GAMP 5, CSV, and validation lifecycle in a GMP environment.
* Demonstrated project management experience and ability to manage multiple priorities.
