Excel Recruitment is delighted to partner with a leading residential developer to recruit a high-calibre Site Manager for their team in Cork. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile projects while benefiting from a competitive salary and strong career progression opportunities.

Responsibilities for Site Manager

1. Lead Health and Safety on site, embedding a proactive safety culture and ensuring all plant and equipment is fully certified and fit for use.

2. Select and appoint key supervisory roles across the project lifecycle-such as Appointed Person, Crane Supervisor, Temporary Works Coordinator, and others.

3. Ensure the Project Execution Plan is clearly communicated to all stakeholders and updated throughout the project.

4. Manage subcontractors and suppliers: contribute to tender pack content, oversee scopes of work and budgets, monitor subcontractor progress, and ensure timely procurement of materials and plant.

5. Coordinate service providers, local authorities, and third parties to maintain seamless site operations.

6. Review design documents and actively contribute to design meetings.

7. Lead daily site meetings, maintain short-term (2-week) lookahead programmes, and report progress weekly.

8. Oversee the site construction team, ensuring a coordinated and high-quality delivery of work.

9. Ensure all works are compliant with Building Regulations, design specifications, and quality standards.

10. Monitor and implement quality assurance protocols, with clear communication of standards to subcontractors and internal teams.

11. Chair site and construction meetings and manage on-site team development, performance, and planning.

12. Engage with key stakeholders early in the project and support strong relationship management throughout.

13. Continuously pursue professional development and contribute to a best-in-class customer experience.

Requirements for Site Manager

14. Degree or Higher Diploma in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline.

15. 5-10 years' post-qualification experience in large-scale residential construction.

16. Strong grasp of current building regulations and certification processes.

17. Commercially aware, with strong negotiation skills and the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.

18. Able to manage time, teams, and quality under pressure with attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

19. A self-starter who works well independently and as part of a collaborative team.

20. Capable of managing multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.

21. Willing to take ownership and accountability for tasks through to completion.
