Financial Controller Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting expertise and excellent leadership skills.

About the Role:
The Financial Controller will be responsible for delivering timely financial reporting and control requirements for our group's trading and holding company entities. This is a full-time permanent role that requires a broad range of skills, including ensuring accurate financial statements, managing the finance team, and overseeing bank and cash transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure all weekly/monthly/quarterly & annual period close activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures and in a timely manner
• Manage, develop, and motivate the existing finance team
• Oversee the monthly accounts payable process, ensuring strict adherence to agreed reconciliation and payment policies
• Ensure the finance team accurately codes all resale and expense invoices to enable meaningful gross margin analysis
• Maintain governance over all bank and cash transactions
• Help the finance team produce accurate financial statements, including detailed gross margin analysis, P&L, and BS
• Oversee the payroll team and provide guidance and support on any pertinent issues
• Take responsibility for key accounting adjustments during quarterly close
• Liaise with external parties, such as suppliers, insurers, auditors, tenants, and debtors
• Maintain up-to-date Trial Balances for all holding companies
• Compile periodic consolidated group accounts
• Oversee group inter-company transactions to ensure they are recorded appropriately
• Maintain up-to-date KPIs on various expense headings across the group
• Work closely with P&L owners to ensure all accounting issues are communicated on a timely basis

Candidate Requirements:
We are looking for a qualified Accountant with practice and industry experience who can work effectively with cross-functional teams in multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have a track record of delivering to deadlines, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining attention to detail. They should also be an experienced user of various accounting systems, Excel, and other cloud-based applications.

Skills and Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
• Qualified Accountant with practice and industry experience
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in multiple locations
• Track record of delivering to deadlines and driving continuous improvement while maintaining attention to detail
• Experienced user of various accounting systems, Excel, and other cloud-based applications
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven problem-solver not afraid to tackle issues head-on
