The Brooklyn is looking to hire a Food Runner/Pass Expediter to act as the key link between the kitchen and frontofhouse teams, ensuring that food orders are prepared, plated, checked, and delivered to guests efficiently and accurately. This role is essential in maintaining service flow, quality standards, and communication during busy service periods.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the pass during service, ensuring all dishes are presented, checked, and sent out promptly.Coordinate timing between kitchen stations to ensure all components of an order are ready together.Prioritise and organise incoming orders to maintain smooth service flow.Communicate clearly with chefs and frontofhouse staff to avoid delays or errors.Check each dish for correct presentation, portion size, temperature, and accuracy before it leaves the kitchen.Ensure all food meets company standards and complies with food safety guidelines.Flag any inconsistencies or issues to the relevant chef immediately.Act as the central communication point between kitchen and service teams.Relay special requests, dietary requirements, and order changes accurately.Support a positive, collaborative working environment.Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pass area at all times.Ensure service equipment (heat lamps, plates, cutlery, etc.) is stocked and ready.Assist with closing procedures, including cleaning and resetting the pass.Follow all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures.Ensure allergen information is communicated correctly.Report any hazards, incidents, or equipment issues promptly.Skills & CompetenciesStrong communication and coordination skills.Ability to work under pressure in a fastpaced environment.Excellent attention to detail.Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask.Teamfocused with a positive, professional attitude.Previous experience in a similar role (expediter, food runner, supervisor, or chef).Knowledge of food safety standards and allergen procedures.Experience in highvolume or airport F&B operations.
