In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing processes and supporting utilities on a scale that can range from developmental pilot plants to full commercial production. Ideally, you will have process design and operations experience in pharmaceutical facilities, which include biologic and organic synthesis of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and oral and parenteral Drug Products.Position ResponsibilitiesProduce conceptual design deliverables such as Process Flow Diagrams and Material and Energy Balances.Estimates utility requirements for new manufacturing processes, design utility generation, and distribution systems.Generates Process P&IDs that include controls strategy and CIP/SIP functions, if appropriate.Performs engineering studies for expanding, improving, or automating existing facilities without supervision.Produces specifications and performance data sheets for process equipment and instrumentation.Makes use of and participates in the development of company design and production tools, including process simulation and smart P&IDs.Assumes ownership of the process-related aspects of a portion of a large project or an entire small project, and provides technical support to the design team.Generates P&IDs for critical utility systems, such as WFI, USP Purified water, and Clean Steam.Establishes and maintains excellent working relationships with clients and members of the IPS design team.Qualifications & Requirements10+ years of process engineering design experience, preferably in the Biopharmaceutical industry.Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemical / Biochemical Engineering.Knowledge of cGMPs as they affect process design and equipment specification.Possesses a demonstrated ability to problem solve (with limited direction), effectively communicate verbally and in writing, and manage time.All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually, withvideo required.About UsIPS, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a global leader in technical consulting, architecture, engineering, procurement, construction management, commissioning, qualification, and validation services for technically complex facilities.Integrationis how we think and work.
