Background
The Site Agent is responsible for leading and coordinating all on-site activities to ensure the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of construction projects.
They will manage their assigned team which may include Construction Managers, Site Engineers, Supervisors, Foremen, and subcontractors — ensuring works are completed to the highest safety, quality, and programme standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage multiple construction projects from initiation to completion across urban and rural locations.
* Lead on-site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.
* Oversee project resources, budgets, and schedules to meet programme and financial targets.
* Liaise closely with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.
* Interpret and manage contract and design documentation, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
* Coordinate both temporary and permanent works design, obtaining necessary certifications.
* Monitor site progress, safety, and quality, reporting regularly on performance, risks, and opportunities.
* Promote and enforce company HSQE policies, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
* Support procurement, cost control, and project reporting in collaboration with commercial and planning teams.
* Ensure all works meet legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
Requirements
* Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
* Membership of a relevant professional institution preferred.
* Chartered Engineer status (or currently working toward it).
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Site Agent or equivalent role.
* Full, clean EU/Irish driving licence.
* Eligible to work in Ireland.
