The motorsport wiring system is very different to OEM – so the experience in it makes a big difference.
We are really after technicians with motorsport experience if at all possible To build, test, and maintain high-performance motorsport wiring harnesses to the highest standards of reliability, weight reduction, and durability under extreme conditions.
Key Responsibilities: Independently build complete motorsport wiring harnesses from drawings and build sheets.
Carry out concentric twisting, shielded cable prep, and Autosport connector termination to professional standards.
Select correct motorsport-grade materials (TE/Deutsch Autosport, Souriau, Raychem, etc.).
Perform full electrical testing: continuity, insulation resistance, and functional checks. Carry out loom repairs and modifications at the track or workshop under time-critical conditions.
Support vehicle installation, routing, and integration of harnesses.
Provide feedback to engineering on design improvements and build efficiency.
Mentor junior technicians and ensure adherence to build quality standards. Skills & Competencies:
Expert in motorsport wiring techniques, including: Crimping with calibrated tooling (DMC, Daniels, etc.) o Heatshrink boot moulding & potting Shield terminations & splice joints o Concentric twisting & lightweight harness design
Ability to interpret detailed CAD drawings, wiring schematics, and pinout tables.
Fault-finding and troubleshooting under pressure. Strong quality focus with pride in workmanship.
Capable of working independently in workshop or trackside environments. Qualifications & Experience: 3 years of motorsport harness building experience (F1, WEC, Formula E, GT, Rally, or similar high-level motorsport). Familiarity with FIA / motorsport electrical standards
