This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, hands-on chef who thrives in a busy environment and is passionate about both food and people development.
You will lead menu innovation, ensure operational excellence, and play a vital role in training and mentoring our people supported by WALK as they develop skills for future employment.
What You'll Do
Lead menu planning & execution – create seasonal, innovative menus that our customers will love.
Train & mentor our people supported by WALK – provide structured, hands-on training for people with learning disabilities in food preparation, hygiene, and customer service.
Manage and inspire the team – coach, and develop the kitchen team and front-of-house staff, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace.
Oversee both sites – maintain consistent quality and standards across Walkinstown and our new city centre café.
Control costs & stock – ensure efficient ordering, minimal waste, and strong financial performance.
Ensure food safety & compliance – maintain HACCP standards and embed a strong culture of safety.
Drive innovation – introduce fresh ideas, culinary trends, and special offerings to keep our menus exciting.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a chef in a senior or development role.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to train and inspire others.
Creative culinary flair with an eye for detail and consistency.
Experience in budgeting, stock control, and cost management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and health and safety regulations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and adapt quickly.
Passion for social enterprise or community-based work is a plus.
