Job Title: Field Calibration Engineer
Reports to: Calibration Manager
Qualifications / Experience
Full driving license essential.
Minimum Qualification - National Certificate in Electronics. Degree desirable.
One year's previous experience preferred. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities are to proactively support our customers in providing testing and calibration services within the parameters of the CruinnCal quotation and Service Level agreements.
To project a positive image of Cruinn Diagnostics by interacting with customers and suppliers etc. in a professional, friendly and courteous manner at all times.
Duties
* Perform testing and validation of containment devices and controlled environments at customer sites.
* Perform temperature mapping of fridges, freezers and associated devices at customer sites.
* Perform calibration duties within the pipette calibration laboratory and on customer sites.
* Carry out the above duties within the scope of our ISO 17025 Accreditation and our ISO 9001:2000 Quality System.
* Ensure all calibration and service visits are completed to the agreed parameters of the customers' requirements and / or service level agreements.
* Familiarise yourself with the customers requirements prior to carrying out the calibration / service call.
* Provide the above support in a positive and seamless manner to the customer.
* Plan and manage your day to day activities in relation to performing the above duties in conjunction with your divisional manager.
* Ensure all administrative work, documentation and certification relating to the calibration / service visit is carried out and that the work, including any parts used, is invoiced correctly and in a timely manner.
* Ensure all calibration equipment used at customer sites and in-house is in proper working condition and that all equipment is certified for use.
* Perform a basic level of evaluation of results obtained during testing and calibration for technical content and compliance with specifications.
* Assimilate your knowledge of any new methods and procedures employed in the growth of the calibration department.
* Perform repairs and preventative maintenance of in-house equipment.
* Perform installation and de-commission of equipment at customers sites.
* Perform pre-installation checks on laboratory equipment prior to shipping to our customers.
* Perform repairs on laboratory equipment in Cruinn's product portfolio.
* Ensure all spare parts levels carried out by you are kept at adequate stock levels and maintained at these levels.
* Complete stock taking of spare parts when requested.
* Aid with the implementation of new processes and systems within the CruinnCal department.
* Assimilate knowledge on all new technology and systems sold by the company.
* Maintain an acceptable housekeeping standard throughout your department.
* Attend supplier product training, which may require some travel abroad from time to time.
* Develop new in-house systems as agreed with your department manager and provide training with staff on new systems developed.
* Provide a completed monthly expenses report.
* Ensure your company vehicle is regularly serviced and maintained and kept clean and tidy at all times. Please be aware of the dangers of leaving mobile phone visible in the car. For insurance purposes, all company laptop computers must be locked in the boot and not visible while your car is left unattended.
* Drive safely and within the rules of the road.
* Supply business and non-business mileage records to the accounts department on a monthly basis. This ensures that we in turn declare accurate details of your company vehicle to the Revenue Commissioners for the purposes of deduction of Benefit in Kind.
* Other adhoc duties.
