What Will Your Day Look Like?
You’ll be based across the Midlands and Munster, working with experienced solution engineers on a SOLAS-approved apprenticeship that provides structured training and hands‑on experience. You will gain a Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft in Electronic Security Systems.
On completion of the 4‑year Fire & Security apprenticeship, you will be qualified as an Electronic Security Systems Installer, responsible for designing, planning, risk assessing, installing, programming, and commissioning security systems including intruder alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, access control, intercoms, gate automation, and perimeter protection systems.

Your role will include:
Assisting with the installation of fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV, and access control systems.
Supporting testing, commissioning, and fault‑finding activities.
Carrying out routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
Installing cabling, containment, and system components.
Learning to read drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
Adhering to all health & safety procedures on‑site.
Maintaining accurate job and service records.
Attending and completing all required SOLAS off‑the‑job training phases.
What We’re Looking For
Achieved Grade D in five subjects in the Department of Education & Skills Junior Certificate Examination or an approved equivalent.
Completed either an approved Pre‑Apprenticeship course or 3 years’ work experience gained in a relevant designated industrial activity as SOLAS shall deem acceptable.
Strong interest in electrical, electronic, or security systems.
Practical, hands‑on approach to work.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn.
Comfortable working at heights and on construction sites.
Full Driving Licence Essential.
Safe Pass and Manual Handling are an advantage but not essential.
