SeatTech Workshop Technician – Enable Ireland
Overview
The SeatTech Technician provides technical expertise in production and quality of custom seating, wheelchairs and positioning equipment. The role focuses on engineering principles, digital manufacturing and collaboration with clinical and technical staff.
Employment Details
* Contract type: Permanent, full‑time
* Hours: 35 hours per week
* Salary: €43,146 – €48,717 pro‑rata per annum
* Annual leave: 30 days
* Location: Sandymount, Dublin
Responsibilities
* Product design, manufacture and quality assurance of seating solutions
* Product repair and stock management
* Design documentation and research & development of new products
* Use of 3D scanning technologies, CAD software and alternative manufacturing techniques
* Collaboration with clinical staff on clinical suitability of seating solutions
* Efficient and proactive production to meet agreed deadlines
Essential Criteria
* NFQ Level 7 qualification in engineering, or NFQ Level 6 qualification in manufacturing, metal fabrication, toolmaking, carpentry or equivalent with significant experience
* Workshop & machine tool training and minimum 5 years’ experience using machine tools and handheld power tools
* Demonstrable technical competence – practical assessment at selection
* Hands‑on completion of full‑cycle design to production work (high standard)
* Flexibility and efficient teamwork – initiative and collaboration
* Full Class B driving licence
Desirable Criteria
* Eligibility to register as ‘Engineering Technician’ with Engineers Ireland
* Training & experience in clinical / biomedical applications
* Experience of planned preventative maintenance on machine tools & handheld power tools
* Commitment to ongoing professional formation
* Experience in design, development or use of CAD/CAM techniques, specifically CNC milling
* Full, clean Class B driving licence
