Purpose of the role: Support participants from the Traveller community to gain and sustain employment
JOB SUMMARY
1. To build and maintain connections between the Traveller and Business communities in Ireland
2. Requires a deep understanding of Traveller culture
3. An understanding of a job coach/ career guidance role – ideally including a related qualification but not essential
4. Hybrid working model – min 2 days in the office per week
5. Salary €35,000 - €40,000 pa, depending on experience,Full time 35 hrs per week, permanent contract subject to funding
6. Experience of job seeking, applications and communicating with employers

Job Description
The Traveller Employment Programme Job Coach responsibilities include building and maintaining connections between the Traveller and Business communities that will combat discrimination and support Traveller employment in the future.
The Traveller Employment Programme Job Coach will be responsible for:
Main Responsibilities:
20. Develop relationships with a range of referral organisations to promote the Traveller Employment Programme and source programme participants
21. Provide one-one career guidance and in-employment support for participants, particularly Traveller men
22. Create career plans and vocational profiles
23. Identify potential barriers to success in the workplace; refer participants to health/ accommodation/ practical supports according to their individual needs
24. Contribute to the design of the TEP through research of best practice
25. Identify training and education needs and support participants to access courses
26. Work with the programme's coordinator to network with employers and source suitable employment opportunities
27. Deliver information sessions and knowledge sessions to business
28. Work with business to develop inclusive employment initiatives for members of the Traveller community
Other Responsibilities:
29. Support the work of the programme coordinator
30. Support with the writing and submission of funding applications
31. Attend events that focus on the needs of the Traveller community
32. Contribute and feed into the work of the wider Employment Team and organisation
33. Gather feedback from participants, track Key Performance Indicators and contribute to evaluation reports
34. Prepare Traveller participants for soft skills workshops and work experience placements run by businesses
Person Specification:
Core Skills:
35. A deep understanding of Traveller culture, and we strongly encourage applications from members of the Traveller community
36. Experience of working with members of the Traveller community, particularly Traveller men
37. Awareness of the benefits of education and employment in bringing about social inclusion and better health
38. Experience in a coaching/ social care / mentoring/ guidance / education or similar role
39. Knowledge of the job seeking process, applications and communicating with employers
40. Can do attitude and an openness to learn and work on new initiatives
Other skills / knowledge:
41. Knowledge of Traveller training and employment initiatives and policies in Ireland – their successes and lessons
42. Attention to detail - for CVs, job applications and reporting outcomes
43. Comfortable with basic IT, particularly MS Outlook, Word and Excel
