Roughan & O'Donovan (ROD) is looking to recruit a design engineer with at least four years' relevant experience for a permanent position within our transportation team.
Job type: Permanent
Location: Santry, Dublin 17, Ireland
About the roleYou will join a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team that has successfully delivered transportation projects including upgraded rail lines, light railways, motorways, public transport facilities, rural roads, cycleways, and pedestrian schemes across Ireland and the UK.
Our team has the experience and skills to cover the full life cycle of transport assets—from initial investigations and modelling, through construction management, to maintenance of transport networks.
A bachelor's degree in civil engineering (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent).At least four years' post-qualification experience in the design or construction of civil engineering projects.Good knowledge of Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) Publications and the National Highways Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB).Good knowledge of the Design Manual for Urban Roads and Streets (DMURS), the Traffic Signs Manual, the Cycle Design Manual, and the Traffic Management Guidelines Manual.Good knowledge of construction procurement processes.Basic knowledge of the planning application process.Experience in preparing reports.Experience in implementing quality procedures and maintaining records.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).Working knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling).High proficiency in spoken and written English.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Motivated individual with a strong work ethic.A master's degree in civil engineering (Level 9 in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent).Chartered membership of a recognized professional engineering body.Competency in AutoCAD.Competency in 3D modelling software such as Civil 3D, OpenRoads, and MX.Competency in traffic modelling software packages, such as Paramics, LinSig, and Junctions.About Roughan & O'DonovanROD is a leading civil, environmental, and structural engineering consultancy employing a multidisciplinary team of over 200 people from 20 different nationalities in Irish and UK offices.
