Electrical Engineer Role Overview

Job Description:
* The Electrical Engineer will prepare engineering drawings, including substation layouts, elevations and lightning protection zones.
* They will create panel schematic drawings and detailed design documentation.
* Designing protection and control schemes for HV substations is also a key responsibility.
* The engineer will draft and review technical specifications for electrical equipment.
* They will carry out technical evaluations of supplier equipment proposals.
* Producing clear and structured technical reports is essential.
* Supporting project delivery teams through the design, construction and commissioning phases is crucial.
* Liaising with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project requirements are met is also important.
Requirements:
* A Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) is required.
* Familiarity with High Voltage (HV) substation design from 10kV to 220kV is essential.
* Knowledge of ESB standards is preferred but not essential.
* Proficiency in Eplan and AutoCAD 2D is preferred but not essential.
* A strong understanding of electrical protection systems and control philosophies is necessary.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, are required.
