Tasks and Qualifications:
* Manage a team of skilled resident engineers to deliver contractual KPIs on time and within budget.
* Mentor, guide, monitor, and develop the team aligning with Dematic values and customer requirements.
* Recognize customer priorities and ensure a culture of service excellence to meet quality targets.
* Manage talent including review, development, and succession planning.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and Dematic policies.
* Create and maintain site Health & Safety plans and foster a positive safety culture.
* Utilize DMMS for safety-critical maintenance, spares management, and scheduled maintenance.
* Enforce safety principles and practices, including near-miss reporting, audits, and safety tours.
* Deliver budget targets and control costs within contractual guidelines.
* Prioritize and plan repairs in line with customer needs.
* Maintain service records and ensure availability.
* Prioritize system faults to minimize business impact.
* Manage legislative compliance for maintenance, including PUWER and LOLER.
* Promote standardization of maintenance practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including LEAN projects, to enhance efficiency.
* Define critical quality parameters and reduce process variation through auditing and coaching.
* Manage customer expectations and provide escalation support.
* Adopt a continuous improvement mindset on site.
Qualifications:
* HNC/HND in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering; Degree preferred.
* IOSH managing safely/NEBOSH (desirable).
* Minimum 5 years of team management experience in a similar role.
* Level 5 qualifications in people management (desirable).
* Lean/Six Sigma certification (desirable).
* Recognized engineering apprenticeship.
* Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic manuals and drawings.
* Knowledge of control systems and troubleshooting techniques.
* Experience with conveyor systems/automation environments.
* Excellent PC literacy and communication skills.
* Understanding of preventive maintenance principles and CMMS software.
* Experience with budgets and P&L management.
* Knowledge of FEM and BS standards in warehouse automation.
* Continuous improvement mentality.
