Job Title: Senior Project HSE Advisor
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health, safety and environmental management with experience in project HSE management. The role requires the ability to supervise, support and guide project safety advisors, promote safe working practices and manage the implementation of company HSE policy and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise, support and guide all project safety advisors under your control.
* Promote safe working practices and manage the implementation of company HSE policy and procedures on the project.
* Conduct regular site inspections and report findings to relevant personnel.
* Ensure that the project team has been provided with relevant HSE documentation.
* Ensure that HSE project plans meet company standards.
* Discuss HSE issues at project review meetings.
* Maintain clear records to comply with company internal and external audit standards.
* Assist the site management team and sub-contractor owners with risk assessments and sub-contractor evaluations and documentation review when requested.
* Deliver HSE training as agreed with the Project Manager.
* Suggest and communicate initiatives for incident prevention and forward to the Project Manager/HSE & Sustainability Manager for consideration.
* Support the Project Manager in incident investigation.
* Monitor the adequacy and timely close out of incident reporting and HSE inspections.
* Liaise with relevant legal authorities (e.g., HSA, EPA).
* Identify ideas for HSE improvement and submit to the project manager and the HSE & Sustainability manager for consideration.
* Attend relevant HSE meetings as required.
* Assist managers with safety and environmental submissions, risk assessments and vendor evaluations when requested.
* Communicate and promote HSE ethos, values and concepts.
* Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time.
Requirements:
* Level 8 qualification in health and safety.
* 8 years successful postgraduate experience in project HSE management.
* Successful experience as a chartered Project Safety Advisor.
* Thorough knowledge of OHSAS 45001.
* Chartered membership of IOSH.
* Ability to communicate effectively within the organization.
* Capable of leading major accident investigations internally.
