About Arup

Shape a future with purpose at Arup in Cork or Dublin. Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

Driving Commercial Excellence

Our Procurement and Cost Management team is redefining how value is delivered across infrastructure and building projects. By combining deep technical expertise with a collaborative mindset, we’re helping clients make smarter investment decisions and embed sustainability, innovation, and behavioral best practice into every stage of the project lifecycle.

The Opportunity

Join Arup’s growing Project & Commercial Management (PCM) team in Cork, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cost and commercial advisory across Ireland. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll help lead a dynamic, multidisciplinary team focused on delivering high‑impact infrastructure and building projects that prioritise sustainability, value, and innovation.

This is a chance to influence how we deliver commercial excellence — from mentoring junior colleagues and refining procurement strategies, to driving whole‑life value and embedding behavioral best practice into day‑to‑day operations. You’ll be part of a team that’s not only expanding in size, but also in ambition, with opportunities to contribute to strategic growth, thought leadership, and the evolution of Arup’s commercial capability.

Responsibilities

* Deliver strategic procurement advice that drives value and ensures alignment with client objectives across diverse infrastructure and building projects.
* Lead the preparation of robust cost estimates and tender documentation, enabling informed decision‑making and competitive pricing strategies.
* Manage contract administration and post‑contract services, ensuring commercial control and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
* Act as Project QS on small to medium‑sized schemes, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
* Engage directly with clients, design teams, contractors, and approving authorities, representing Arup at site visits and project meetings to maintain quality and foster strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

* Minimum eight years post‑qualification experience.
* Excellent report writing and communication skills.
* Working knowledge of MS Office products and construction industry estimating software such as CostOS and CostX.
* Experienced in managing construction contracts (NEC, Public Works Contracts, FIDIC).
* Commercially astute with strong numerical skills, attention to detail and ability to drive whole‑life value.
