JOB DETAILSOne year graduate programmeOver the course of the programme the junior executive will gain experience in policy; communications and research development and will work in all key policy areas.The person will report to the Senior Policy Executive who will provide support and guidance throughout the programme. There will be regular meetings to review how the executive is progressing with the activities they have been assigned, to identify if they require any further support.Specific learning outcomes over the year will include:Gain an understanding of the role, services, and function of IbecDevelop lobbying and influencing skillsDevelop policy submissions and contribute to wider Ibec campaignsDevelop an insight into the key issues facing Irish business and how Ibec supports business in addressing theseDevelop business writing skills – writing a range of documents depending on placementExposure to formal and informal business meetings to develop skills in organising and participating in meetingsDevelop organisational skills through event co-ordination experienceDevelop an understanding of the dynamics of relationship building in a business environmentThe closing date for applications is the 23rd December 2025.About The RoleMonitor the latest developments in designated policy areas, including legislative areas, to assess their implications for Irish business and employersResearch and analysis of public policy, drafting of papers, policy briefings and Ibec responsesEngage with those who make and influence policy, within government and more widelySupport the engagement of members with policy via organising committee and working group meetingsDevelop opportunities for wider engagement by planning and running Ibec eventsContributing articles to relevant Ibec and external publicationsEnsure that Ibec's knowledge in policy is effectively managedRespond promptly and efficiently to Ibec members' queriesRepresent Ibec at conferences, external meetings as experience and capability developsWork with other divisional staff on cross-functional teams to ensure a holistic approach to current policy prioritiesSupport, where appropriate, other Ibec divisions – for example, liaising with, and providing specialist input to, sector and regional groupsWhere appropriate contribute to cross functional projectsSupport Ibec's communications and press office activity when requiredSupport the collation and analysis of research data; interpret survey data to utilise in publications and analytical articlesAbout YouQualifications, skills and experienceQualificationsPrimary degree essential.
