Role Overview:

The Commercial Manager will act as the link between the CEO and the business development team, ensuring revenue targets are achieved and commercial opportunities maximised. This role requires a manager with strategic vision, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to implement business development plans while managing the team to deliver results.

You will cultivate strong relationships with internal teams and external members, foster brand recognition, and contribute to the senior leadership team by providing commercial insight and driving organisational growth. You will manage the business executives across business development, sponsorship, and media sales.

This role is ideal for someone with commercial experience who is at the start of their management career and wants to develop their leadership skills and expand their business network, with guidance and support from a well-established, nationally recognised brand.

Key Responsibilities:

Team & Performance Management

* Manage and coach the Business Development Executives to consistently achieve and exceed individual and team targets.
* Conduct weekly structured pipeline and performance reviews, proactively identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions to maximise results.
* Ensure clear accountability, prioritisation, and focus across the business development, sponsorship, and media functions.
* Step in to provide direct support or executive action when needed to achieve targets, without losing sight of overall management responsibilities.
* Drive professional development across existing technology and upskilling initiatives to enhance team capability, capacity and performance.

Commercial Strategy & Growth

* Partner with the CEO to define and execute the organisation's commercial strategy, driving sustainable growth and new revenue channels.
* Execute and continually evaluate new revenue streams, business opportunities, strategic partnerships, media and digital opportunities with organisational objectives.
* Oversee and take responsibility for the delivery of the full sales pipeline, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and robust customer relationship management practices across the team.
* Align commercial strategy with CRM processes, workflows, and HubSpot utilisation to maximise opportunities within the system.
* Champion process improvements and efficiency initiatives to drive higher conversion rates and commercial performance.
* Lead commercial forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis for the Senior Leadership Team, providing actionable insights and data-driven recommendations.

Business Development Oversight

* Intervene strategically on high-value deals and key client relationships, providing senior support while empowering the team to execute independently.
* Represent Guaranteed Irish in senior stakeholder meetings, industry events, and organisational events to strengthen relationships and brand visibility.
* Engage in targeted networking with business leaders and key stakeholders to support growth and business objectives.

Collaboration Across Teams

* Work closely with the Membership Retention team to ensure seamless handover of new members and the provision of comprehensive information for smooth transitions.
* Collaborate with Marketing, PR, and Communications teams to develop compelling messaging, materials, presentations, and collateral that support business development goals.
* Contribute to overall strategic planning and organisational growth initiatives as part of the Senior Management Team, providing commercial insights and recommendations.

Requirement:

* Degree-level education in Business, Sales, or a related field preferred.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in business development or sales, with a proven track record of exceeding targets.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in commercial team and performance management, including managing and coaching teams to drive results.
* Robust management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and business-oriented mindset.
* Experience with digital marketing and CRM systems (HubSpot), with the ability to optimise processes and workflows.
* Digitally savvy, with strong project management skills, excellent attention to detail, and effective time management. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
* Agile and adaptable, embracing new ideas and change to stay up to date with evolving business needs and technologies.
* Strong knowledge of the Irish business landscape and commercial environment.
* Possession of a valid driving licence and access to a car for business travel.

* Annual base salary of €50,000–55,000, dependent on experience, plus commission to reward performance.
