Role Profile
We have an exciting opportunity in the Communities Energy Grants (CEG) Team. The Communities Energy Grant scheme is part of the government's National Retrofit Programme aimed at upgrading building stock and facilities to high standards of energy efficiency and renewable energy usage, thereby reducing fossil fuel usage, energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

The position will report to the Communities Energy Grants Programme Manager.

The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and innovative team who are committed to the high quality delivery of SEAI's Communities Energy Grant Programme.

The successful candidate may be required to undertake adhoc nationwide travel to attend and present at community projects and to engage with prospective clients on behalf of SEAI.
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

* A degree (a minimum of NFQ Level 7 or greater) in Sustainability, Environment, Engineering, Science, or other field relevant to energy efficiency and building environment.
* Minimum three years' experience of working in this or in a related sector or in a similar role (can include postgraduate studies).
* Expertise/knowledge in the following: energy efficiency retrofit measures, their installation and commissioning, building energy rating, building physics, renewable technologies such as heat pumps.
* Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills (including report writing, presenting and public speaking) with an ability to communicate complex concepts to nontechnical audiences.
* Well developed IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Desirable Requirements

* Experience of working with or engaging with community groups.
* Strong project management methodologies.
* Experience or knowledge of delivering positive customer experiences.
* Full Driving Licence.

Eligibility to Work
The SEAI has a legal obligation to ensure that all employees are lawfully entitled to work in Ireland. To qualify, candidates must hold a valid visa on the date of application and where applicable to support a candidate's application, candidates must submit a valid work permit/visa confirming permission to work in Ireland when requested. Failure to submit the required evidence, and failure to hold a valid permit/visa during the period of the contract, will result in the application and/or contract of employment being rendered void.
