Role Summary:
Reporting to the Technical Manager, RIXO is seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Garment Technologist. Ensuring premium RIXO brand quality and legal standards are met while continuously driving improvements in fit and production. This is an exciting role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a deep understanding of garment construction and fabric technology.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage own product area independently.
* Develop and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers and support supplier development.
* Create size specs and detailed garment construction sheets for the product area, following handover from the design team, offering technical guidance on new product development.
* Manage the fit process in line with the critical path. Ensure all approved fits are sealed to RIXO Golden Rules. Proactively troubleshoot issues and provide regular updates to the wider team to ensure all key dates are met and any potential issues are escalated.
* Achieve yearly KPIs for return rates for own product area, analyzing and reacting to relevant returns data and customer feedback.
* Continuously review RIXO blocks for own product categories, suggesting improvements and updates where necessary.
* Ensure all products are developed in line with RIXO testing standards and are compliant with legal requirements in all relevant markets.
* Manage the testing process for own product categories. Ensure bulk fabric test reports are received and reviewed ahead of production start dates. Work closely with suppliers and the product development team to resolve issues.
* Oversee all garment labelling for own product categories, ensuring brand labelling standards are followed and care labels are both legally compliant and accurate to test reports.
* Ensure all production size charts are accurate, following standard RIXO grading.
* Ensure all customer information is accurate for the website and wholesale partners.
* Carry out supplier visits when necessary, evaluating factory setup and production processes. Contribute to supplier appraisal and allocation processes.
* Support the product development team on fabric base testing and wearer trial processes.
* Update the PDP team throughout the fit process of any changes impacting cost price/delivery and advise on packaging methods to suit the garment.
* Troubleshoot any QC issues for own product categories, working closely with the warehouse and stores to check stock and feedback to suppliers.
* Support junior team members with technical training.
About you:
* You have experience in a similar role with at least 5 years in a garment tech role.
* Experience in woven dresses, jersey, or knitwear is a plus.
* You possess strong communication skills and can develop strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
* You have a passion for the RIXO brand and an understanding of its identity.
* You are a team player with good attention to detail and a logical, proactive approach to problem-solving.
* You have an excellent understanding of the fit process, garment construction, and production processes.
* You are proficient in MS Office; experience with PLM systems is advantageous.
