Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Dairy Herd Assistant to support the day-to-day management of our dairy herd.
The role involves working closely with the farm manager to ensure the health, welfare, and productivity of the herd, as well as maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency on the farm.
Key Responsibilities:
Milking cows and assisting with daily herd routines.
Monitoring animal health and reporting any issues.
Feeding livestock and managing housing and bedding.
Assisting with calving, breeding, and young stock care.
Maintaining hygiene in parlour and housing facilities.
Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment as required.
Recording herd data and supporting herd health and production programs.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with livestock, ideally dairy cattle.
Strong attention to animal welfare and herd health.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills and reliability.
Flexibility to adapt to seasonal farm demands.
This is a full-time position offering 39 hours per week and a salary of €34,000 per year, with opportunities to develop skills in modern dairy herd management.
