Job Overview:
* Lead a multidisciplinary team in speech and language therapy for adults with intellectual disabilities.
* Provide specialist therapy services, including dysphagia management and alternative communication strategies.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans and improve patient outcomes.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to service evaluations to ensure high-quality care.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Recognized qualification in speech and language therapy (CORU registration).
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a speech and language therapist, including adult intellectual disability work.
* Dysphagia qualification with 1 year's post-graduate experience and expertise in alternative communication methods.
* Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex ideas clearly.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
* IASLT membership and ongoing professional development.
* Lmh qualification and experience working with dementia patients.
* Experience in family/staff training and education.
