Vacancy for ISSDA Data Manager at University College Dublin

Responsibilities
* The ISSDA Data Manager will join the UCD Library's Research Services Unit during a period of change and lead the development of library services, including new processes and services. The role supports the ongoing development of the national ISSDA service and collaborates with the UCD Library's Data Manager, ISSDA Library Assistant and other colleagues.
* Play a key role in transitioning ISSDA to a new online data catalogue and in establishing and operating the new online service for archiving ISSDA datasets, in collaboration with technical, systems and other staff.
* Responsible for activities relating to depositing data, collection development and description, and other data support services for ISSDA data providers and users.
* Develop and implement processes and procedures for checking data, documentation and metadata deposited by data producers, and create policies, standards, and documentation for making research data available in line with best practice and legal and ethical requirements (e.g., GDPR).
* Engage with external users and agencies (such as the CSO, ESRI and other data producers) and participate actively in CESSDA projects and work packages, meetings, networks and other European-level activities.
Qualifications
* Experience in data management and archiving within an academic or research data environment.
* Knowledge of data documentation and metadata standards.
* Ability to work collaboratively with library staff and external partners.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
