Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer
We are seeking an Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer to join our team at Rockwell Automation in Cork, Ireland. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills.
About the Role
This role is part of our delivery team responsible for creating online applications using advanced analytics and model predictive control products. As an APC Engineer, you will be involved in assessing customer processes, developing mathematical models, and configuring online applications to improve product quality, production capacity, and energy usage.
Responsibilities
1. Perform technical project activities including design, system integration, installation, data analysis, modeling, application development, site installation, commissioning, and documentation as assigned by the Regional Technical Manager.
2. Identify technical issues impacting project performance and communicate them to the RTM.
3. Provide regular project information to the RTM on cost performance against plan, performance guarantee status, and other relevant metrics.
4. Lead advanced analytics projects and mentor less experienced engineers.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's or equivalent degree in chemical engineering or other engineering with heavy modeling, statistics, or process control focus.
* Strong interest in automation, process control, and advanced model-predictive applications.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
* Experience in leading complex projects in a process industry.
* Experience with instrumentation, industrial control systems, and supervisory control applications.
Desired Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience implementing advanced control solutions in a process manufacturing environment.
* Experience in leading complex projects.
* A degree in chemical engineering or other engineering with heavy modeling, statistics, or process control focus.
* Experience with industrial computing, networking, OPC, and ODBC/SQL data communications.
Travel Requirements
Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time, typically 1 or 2 week trips. Occasional international projects may also be required.
