Simo Tech is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join our team, supporting a large multinational pharmaceutical client based in Cork.
The role is part of a significant manufacturing campus dedicated to the global supply of active pharmaceutical ingredients for innovative medicines.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee output of the team, including generation, review, approval of design and test specifications, Delta V application software configuration, and supporting commissioning activities.
Provide project oversight and technical guidance: divide the project into manageable tasks, delegate responsibilities efficiently, and proactively identify potential pitfalls and risks to ensure seamless project execution and timely delivery.
Develop and provide expertise on process engineering design for specific processes, working closely with client process engineers and operations representatives.
Lead design reviews and Delta V application software reviews.
Proactively collaborate with the Computer System Validation team to ensure output is in compliance with project validation and documentation requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering, sciences or equivalent.
5+ years of working experience in biopharma engineering, operations or manufacturing.
5 years' experience in Delta V batch automation design and Distributed Control System design is strongly desired.
Process Engineering experience is strongly desired.
Knowledge of GMPs, regulatory requirements, or computer system validation.
Ability to interact and communicate with other engineering and business disciplines.
Coding experience is required along with on‑site experience in a pharmaceutical environment.
