DescriptionThe SCOR Actuarial model development and reporting team is seeking an energetic individual to help develop SCOR's actuarial modeling processes, capabilities and analytics, and assist with IFRS17 analysis and reporting on a short term contract. This role is part of the US model development and reporting team and will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of different teams including Experience Analysis, Inforce Optimization, Finance, Pricing, SCOR Ireland, SCOR France teams, and more. You will be required to work with stakeholders to define business requirements, update model capabilities as needed and interpret and present results. You will also add value by continuously improving our end-to-end modeling processes and capabilities, with a focus on achieving full automation of the quarterly Model Production process. In doing so, you will help the team achieve its goals around automating the production of Prophet model results and producing insightful analysis of model results.Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work on the quarter end reporting and analysis; performing quarterly reporting tasks and working to improve these tools and processes.ResponsibilitiesSupport actuarial modelling projects at SCOR US, such as regular model releases, annual assumption updates and process improvement projects, and be a key contributor to other company-wide strategic projects.Partner with valuation and reporting teams, working closely on model and process improvements and enhancements for actuarial reporting. Provide occasional support for quarterly production work, where needed. Perform financial impact assessments and support the explanation of financial results and business impacts.Perform BAU IFRS17 and Solvency II reporting and analysis tasks.Develop automation and analysis tools to support the quarter-end valuation process.Ensure that appropriate and auditable controls, reconciliations and documentation are maintained with respect to actuarial models and reporting processes. QualificationsPrevious actuarial experience with financial valuation, modeling, cash flow analysis in the insurance or reinsurance industry preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal, written, and relationship-building. Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team settingAbility to understand complex models, solve problems, and analyses to deliver required results. Ability to understand numbers and analyse drivers of changeDemonstrates curiosity and enthusiasm for continuous improvementProficient in Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)Experience with financial modeling, valuation, and cash flow analysisExperience with actuarial modeling software, preferably Prophet Experience with actuarial database software, including SQLExposure to (re)insurance concepts with a preference towards Life lines of businessExposure to IFRS, Solvency II (or similar economic value reporting method), preferably for traditional life type productsEducation requirements Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field with demonstrated record of academic excellenceAssociate of the Society of Actuaries or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (or equivalent).
