Role/Department:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant within our Financial Control team. The permanent role will play an integral part within the team and be responsible for completing financial control processes, report production, timely issue resolution, and providing ad-hoc support as required to regional finance teams.
The team is responsible for producing monthly management accounts, completing the month-end close process, and statutory accounts production for several legal entities.
The successful candidate will work closely with various operations and other Finance teams to understand the business and ensure that the books and records accurately reflect the business undertaken, with adherence to accounting policy and local GAAP for the relevant legal entities.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
* Consolidation and analysis of monthly financial results for a number of Banking legal entities.
* Production of month-end analytics and trend data to assist with the review and validation of financial results.
* Acting as a key contact for internal and external contacts with the ability to communicate succinctly and interpret financial results.
* Production of reconciliations, ensuring all documentation and accounting are completed in line with corporate requirements and policies.
* Rmending and implementing process improvements identified in day-to-day work.
* Performance of various analyses to assess the impact of financial strategies on the financial position and operating results of the organization.
* Research and resolution of complex accounting transactions and reporting issues, where some expertise is required to interpret policies, guidelines, and/or processes.
* Work with internal and external partners on cross-functional processes or projects providing analytical and procedural representation of the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
* A qualified accountant (preferably ACA/ACCA) with several years of experience in a multi-currency financial services environment.
* Accounting knowledge acquired through years of corporate or industry experience.
* Experience in regulatory and statutory financial reporting with a large organization.
* Ability to meet strict deadlines by multitasking and prioritizing various assigned deliverables.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience in leading or championing new corporate initiatives.
* Requires attention to detail and solid documentation techniques.
