The manufacturing sector relies heavily on the efficiency of its equipment, making a Line Equipment Technician an indispensable role. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of our production lines, minimizing downtime and maximizing product yield.
Job Description:
This is a key function in the successful operation of the manufacturing line, requiring technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve complex machine faults. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, with experience in automated equipment maintenance and electrical/pneumatic systems.
The successful candidate will work independently or as part of a team, demonstrating excellent time management, organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills. A commitment to quality, safety, and GMP standards is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Taking ownership and responsibility for the technical performance/reliability of equipment to target zero downtime in the technicians area relating to equipment faults, through proactive equipment management.
* Evaluating equipment and process inputs/outputs to ensure optimal visual and functional product performance and take action before it impacts on uptime or yield.
* Completing PM's on time and offering improvements when found deficient, to ensure optimal equipment performance at all times.
* Identifying requirements for jigs/fixtures to improve workstation efficiency or yield improvement and carrying through into manufacturing through the approval process, with supporting data on the potential gains to be achieved.
* Maintaining a sufficient Kanban and robust process for consumable equipment spares to minimise downtime.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in a technical role in a similar field.
* Demonstrated experience with automated equipment maintenance is an advantage.
* Strong analytical skills, with experience in electrical and pneumatic systems.
* Excellent time management, organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* A commitment to quality, safety, and GMP standards.
Candidates with Level 6 or above in Engineering or equivalent (preferably Mechanical, Mechatronics or Automation Engineering) are highly desirable.
