We are working with a leading fire engineering consultancy with offices across Ireland and the UK, currently looking to appoint a Senior Fire Engineer for their Dublin-based team.
This is an exciting hybrid/remote opportunity to work on a range of high-profile and complex construction projects across multiple sectors, delivering expert fire safety strategies that meet Irish and international compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver fire engineering solutions across commercial, residential, healthcare, and public sector projects.
Ensure full compliance with Irish Building Regulations, Technical Guidance Document B (TGD-B), and other applicable legislation.
Conduct fire risk assessments, code compliance reviews, and performance-based designs.
Liaise with architects, design teams, contractors, and statutory bodies to integrate fire safety into the design and construction process.
Lead on FSC (Fire Safety Certificates), DAC (Disability Access Certificates), and BCAR (Building Control Amendment Regulations) submissions.
Prepare clear, comprehensive reports and technical documentation to support approvals and tender processes.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge development.
Stay abreast of evolving standards, codes, and best practices in fire safety engineering.
Key Requirements
Degree-qualified in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
Minimum 5 years' experience in fire engineering, ideally within consultancy or the Irish construction sector.
Strong understanding of Irish building and fire safety regulations.
Experience with fire modelling and analytical tools (e.g., FDS, Pathfinder) is advantageous.
Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or on the path to chartership is a strong plus.
Excellent communication, report-writing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to lead projects independently while supporting team collaboration.
