Project Manager Job
This is a key role in supporting the delivery of planning applications and associated environmental and technical assessments for various projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all planning-related activities are carried out efficiently, in compliance with regulatory requirements, and in alignment with project timelines and strategic goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist Senior Project Managers/Project Directors with design, planning, and environmental assessment requirements for renewable energy projects up to consenting decision point.
2. Coordinate and manage associated documents, including EIA and AA Screening, Planning & Environmental Reports, EIARs, and Appropriate Assessments/Natura Impact Statements as required for multiple projects.
3. Manage baseline environmental and constraints assessments and facilitate interaction between project team members.
4. Support the planning team in keeping up-to-date with planning/environmental legislation, policy decisions, and updates to national, regional, and local authority development plans by reviewing and identifying key developments for our projects.
5. Contribute to company submissions as required.
6. Assist the Communications and Engagement team in developing effective project plans for managing consultation with local communities and other relevant stakeholders, including statutory and non-statutory consultees.
7. Support the planning team and community engagement team with preparation for and attendance at Community Events as required.
Requirements
* Hons Degree (Lvl 8 FETAC) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent.
* Postgraduate (Lvl 9 FETAC) qualification in a relevant discipline, desirable but not essential.
* Minimum 3 years of experience assisting with/inputting into planning applications and Environmental Assessment.
* Proven knowledge and experience in project development for planning applications, particularly in coordinating and managing environmental assessments.
* Strong experience working with and managing multidisciplinary project teams.
* Solid understanding of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process and familiarity with Irish planning policy and legislation related to EIA.
* Experience in renewable energy and associated infrastructure projects, particularly Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) projects.
* Background in managing diverse project types with varying priorities, risk levels, and timelines.
* Experience coordinating the preparation of EIARs and Appropriate Assessments (AA/NIS).
* Technical expertise in a discipline related to EIA (e.g., ecology, noise, air quality, etc.).
