The Job
The Automation Technician's role is to support the operation of the production area. The role focuses on maintaining and optimizing automation equipment to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.
What you’ll do
* Diagnose and troubleshoot complex servo-driven systems, vacuum circuits, and automated machinery using digital multi-meters and technical documentation.
* Maintain and enhance existing automation systems to improve performance and reliability.
* Support production start-ups and changeovers
* Modify stroke settings and replace robot heads
* Learn and apply basic programming changes to robotic systems and automation equipment.
* Repair or replace mechanical and electrical components as needed.
* Collaborate with engineering and other departments to install and implement new automation solutions.
Requirements
* Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
* 2 – 3 years of experience in a similar role.
* Strong mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn injection moulding, assembly, decorating, and robotic systems.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic schematics, and mechanical drawings.
* Experience troubleshooting servo systems and vacuum circuits.
* Familiarity with PLC and HMI’s.
