Summary
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a growing delivery team within the HV, Energy and Renewable sector. The role will be site-based on a major energy project in Tipperary, with long-term work across large-scale infrastructure and utility projects.
This contractor delivers complex, next-generation solutions across energy, renewables, data centres, pharma and advanced manufacturing, operating on projects throughout Ireland.
The Role
The Senior Civil Engineer will take responsibility for the management, coordination and delivery of civil works supporting HV and electrical infrastructure, from tender stage through to project completion, with a strong focus on safety, quality, design coordination and programme.
You will work closely with project management, commercial teams, designers, subcontractors and client representatives to ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Review tender documents and electrical requirements and develop civil/energy & utilities tender packages
* Technically review subcontractor tender submissions and support commercial selection
* Liaise with civil and electrical designers to ensure designs meet project and utility requirements
* Manage client interfaces and approval processes related to civil design and construction
* Review and quality-check civil designs prior to issue
* Coordinate input to client and utility design review processes
* Prepare subcontract packages in collaboration with the Project Manager and QS
* Project manage civil subcontractors from mobilisation through to handover
* Coordinate closely with electrical design and construction teams to ensure correct installation and seamless handover
* Track and manage variations, ensuring timely communication with commercial teams
* Ensure compliance with client management systems, specifications and contract requirements
* Manage civil sub-consultants and contractors
* Deliver projects safely, to programme and to the required quality standards
* Support, manage and develop site teams and assigned personnel
Requirements
* Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Energy Engineering or Renewable Engineering
* 5+ years' experience as a Civil Engineer with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor
* Strong experience in HV, utilities, energy or infrastructure projects
* Proven capability in setting out, design coordination and AutoCAD
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Highly organised, detail-focused and able to prioritise workload effectively
* Confident influencing and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
* Enjoys working in a high-performance, delivery-focused environment
* Willing to travel as required by project demands
