Salary: €67,373 - €80,414 (escalated in line with Government pay policy)
Hours of Work: 35 per week

Position Summary
* Ensure the delivery of an efficient, effective quality Radiographic service to patients.
* Maintain calm and controlled style across all situations; flexible during challenging times and stay resilient.
* Manage rapidly changing environment and undertake additional duties as assigned.
* Motivate staff with energy and enthusiasm for a quality service.
* Use professional expertise and management experience to evaluate problems and exercise sound judgement.
* Advise on equipment selection, purchase, replacement and upgrading; facilitate nomination of Radiographers.
* Deploy Radiographers on 24h basis and manage on‑call rotas.
* Respond to service priorities, redeploy resources and liaise with Clinical Specialist Radiographers on operational matters.
* Update the Directorate Management Team on staff and other relevant matters.
* Maintain necessary stock levels of Radiographic consumables.
* Act on the management side of union negotiations.
* Appraise RSM II of significant developments and perform additional duties as assigned.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Professional
* Work with Clinical Specialist Radiographers to facilitate staff rotation, training and skill mix for CPD.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of clinical, technical and professional developments and implement them.
* Actively participate in continuing training, education and research activities for Radiographers.
* Identify training requirements and ensure high standards of professional practice.
* Adhere to Professional Code of Conduct for Radiographers.
* Ensure full compliance with registration requirements for CORU.
* Coordinate with RSM II for support and consultation from Colleges for relevant undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Quality
* Assist in development and maintenance of a Quality Assurance Programme.
* Investigate and take appropriate action regarding complaints, accidents and incidents.
* Ensure compliance with hospital policies: infection control, health and safety, etc.
* Maintain accurate records of equipment service, maintenance, and performance, and coordinate preventive maintenance schedules.
* Liaise with Technical Services for day‑to‑day maintenance and cleaning staff.
Health and Safety
* Ensure general health and safety of patients and staff.
* Record and report all incidents of injury/accident involving staff or patients.
* Promote radiation protection awareness.
* Implement best practice for patient irradiation.
Human Resources
* Participate in HR planning, recruitment, selection, induction and probation.
* Optimise use of Radiographers through efficient rostering, skill/grade mix, workload measurement, and staff deployment.
* Lead staff development, performance review and morale initiatives.
* Train staff to reach full potential.
* Manage absenteeism per hospital policies.
* Resolve HR issues with RSM II and maintain accurate records.
* Control, monitor and compile leave reports in consultation with RSM II.
Finance
* Collate pay expenditure data and identify efficiency savings.
* Delegate budgetary control and support monthly expenditure audit.
* Authorise on‑call payments up to Clinical Specialist level.
* Contribute to Directorate financial and service planning.
Communications/Working Relationships
* This role involves high‑level communication with staff across all departments and disciplines.
* Maintain good relationships with statutory, professional and voluntary organisations.
* Resolve patient and public concerns.
Selection Criteria
* Mandatory statutory registration on the Radiography Division of the Radiographers Register at CORU.
* Six years full‑time (or aggregate) post‑qualification clinical experience.
* Minimum of 10 postgraduate ECTS credits or equivalent relevant to the profession or management.
* Proficient knowledge and ability for managerial, leadership and professional duties.
* Annual registration maintained and PSAC confirmation required.
* Under 65 years of age unless classified as a new entrant.
* Full health competence and good character.
