AuxiliaGroup Recruitment are hiring a Deputy Head of On Board Services on behalf of our client company operating in the shipping and logistics industry. This is a permanent opportunity based in Cork.
Role Overview
Support the Head of Onboard Services in the day‑to‑day management of onboard hospitality operations, ensuring high standards across food, beverage, and retail services while acting as a key liaison between suppliers, agency staff, and external service partners.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for suppliers across food, beverage, and retail categories, ensuring timely communication, issue resolution, and service continuity.
Support and coordinate onboard agency crew, providing operational guidance and maintaining service standards.
Assist the Head of Onboard Services with liaison, onboarding, and relationship management involving external agency management service providers.
Monitor, control, and maintain onboard stock levels across all service areas to ensure availability and minimize waste.
Conduct stock analysis, track usage trends, and prepare detailed operational and performance reports for senior management.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, health & safety standards, and service quality expectations.
Support scheduling and operational continuity within a 5-over-7-day working pattern.
Contribute to service improvement initiatives through data‑driven recommendations and supplier performance monitoring.
Key Skills & Experience
Previous experience in hotel, hospitality, cruise, ferry, or onboard service management.
Strong supplier management and stakeholder communication skills.
Knowledge of stock control, inventory systems, and reporting analysis.
Experience working with agency staffing or external service providers.
Leadership capability with strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office / stock management systems.
Flexibility to work a 5-over-7 rota, including weekends and operational peak periods.
