Company Overview
A leading and fast-growing distributor based in Athy, Co. Kildare, with operations spanning Ireland, the UK, and international markets, is seeking to appoint a highly experienced and target-driven Senior External Sales Representative. This is a key field-based sales role focused on managing high-value client relationships while driving new business acquisition across the Leinster region.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to generate and convert leads, grow existing customer accounts, and consistently achieve ambitious sales targets within a competitive B2B environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and develop a portfolio of high-value accounts within the assigned territory.
* Proactively identify and convert new business opportunities to increase revenue and market share.
* Build strong, trusted relationships with key decision-makers across a variety of sectors.
* Conduct client meetings, site visits, and product demonstrations as part of the consultative sales process.
* Deliver tailored solutions based on a thorough understanding of client requirements.
* Negotiate commercial terms in line with company pricing strategies and profitability targets.
* Liaise closely with internal departments including customer service, logistics, and marketing to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Maintain accurate sales activity records using CRM software and report regularly on pipeline development and performance.
Candidate Profile
* Extensive experience in external sales, business development, or account management within a B2B environment – ideally in distribution, safety products, or related industries.
* Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
* Highly self-motivated, organised, and capable of managing a field-based workload independently.
* Comfortable presenting to clients and conducting on-site assessments where required.
* Full, clean UK or Irish driving licence essential.
