Role Description
This is a full-time onsite role for a Software Test Engineer (Functional Safety), located in
Ireland
. This work will be part of the customer functional safety system engineering team who will be responsible for the comprehensive testing of the functional safety functions within the high voltage power supply system.
You will conduct system testing using Hardware In Loop (HIL) test assets to ensure the safety and reliability of critical subsystems of the BEV programmes.
Responsibilities:
· Support the onsite and wider functional safety system engineering teams in all assigned activities.
· Work onsite five days a week at the customer location and participate in all required team meetings.
· Document completed work activities and promptly communicate any impediments.
· Experience in working with embedded systems for power electronics components (OBC, DC-DC converters, BMS, supervisory circuits) and functional safety processes (e.g., ISO
· Utilize National Instruments test equipment (PXI, DAQ, CAN, LIN, Ethernet, analog output cards) and tools such as TestStand, VeriStand, and LabVIEW.
· Develop and implement automated tests for precise timing measurements and model components for closed-loop HIL testing.
· Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives across all programmes.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Review requirements and test item documentation and develop effective test strategies using various methods.
· Author and execute client-approved test cases, leveraging test automation and reporting results, including defect identification.
· Develop, maintain, and utilize HIL test assets to support comprehensive testing activities.
· Prepare project closure documentation, including test reports and asset records, and provide a clear handover plan for any outstanding work at contract end.
