Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Category Sourcing Expert (CSE)
to lead end-to-end sourcing operations across a diverse range of categories within
Network Infrastructure & Power (NI&P)
. This role focuses on ancillary products such as cell site racks, cable management, tools, and tool repair. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving sourcing strategy, supplier performance, and cost optimisation.
This is a senior-level role requiring strong commercial acumen, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage complex sourcing projects across multiple categories, including logistics and transport.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage supplier relationships for passive products and ensure contracts are maintained within
ARIBA
.
* Develop and implement category management strategies in collaboration with business partners and category intelligence teams.
* Analyse annual spend and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Prepare and lead supplier negotiation strategies and contract negotiations with internal stakeholders.
* Lead RFX processes for product tenders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
* Continuously improve sourcing procedures for greater efficiency and value delivery.
* Build strong working relationships with US-based business partners and global peers.
* Conduct supplier performance reviews both locally and virtually.
* Perform cost and scenario analysis, including pricing benchmarks.
* Identify and mitigate supply chain risks in line with corporate policies.
* Source and partner with reliable, high-performing suppliers.
* Manage item pricing and data accuracy as a core function of the role.
* Present sourcing strategies and supplier recommendations to internal stakeholders.
Skills & Competencies
* Minimum
6–10 years
of sourcing experience, ideally in telecommunications, electronics manufacturing, or a related tech/engineering environment.
* Proven track record in strategic sourcing and delivering measurable results.
* Strong understanding of market dynamics and commercial judgement.
* Experience working in a matrixed organisation with global stakeholders.
* Excellent presentation and communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.
* Contract lifecycle management experience, including drafting and negotiation.
* Creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
* Strong project management and leadership capabilities.
* Proficient in data analysis and financial interpretation; advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
* Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP is an advantage).
* Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timely delivery.
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Desirable Experience
* Exposure to AI tools such as
GEMS
or
Notebook LM
.
* Experience managing multiple categories simultaneously.
* Understanding of business acumen and financial impact of sourcing decisions.
* Domain expertise in telecommunications is advantageous but not essential.
