THE IRISH HERITAGE TRUST WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO:
Established in 2006, The Irish Heritage Trust CLG (IHT) is an independent not-for-profit which cares for, protects and brings to life a variety of historic houses, gardens and parklands in Ireland, in a financially sustainable manner, while developing innovative visitor experiences at these beautiful places: Fota House & Gardens (Cork); Johnstown Castle Estate, Museum & Gardens (Wexford); and Strokestown Park House & Gardens (Roscommon).
Strokestown Park is a unique visitor attraction which comprises of Strokestown Park House one of the best-preserved Georgian Mansions in Ireland, The National Famine Museum telling the story of The Great Irish Famine, Walled Gardens, Woodlands, Café and Gift Shop. In 2021 the Irish Heritage Trust embarked on a large-scale redevelopment and conservation project of Strokestown Park House & Gardens which was completed in Summer 2022. Our audience includes local, domestic and international visitors made up of families, large tour groups, VIP Tours, school groups and members. The Woodland café is a key part of this new attraction.
Job Summary
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
* To assist the Catering Assistant with food preparation
* To keep the front of house well stocked with food products.
* With the guidance of the Catering Assistant and Café Supervisor preparing dishes using recipes provided.
* To wash, polish and circulate all crockery and cutlery in the dishwasher.
* To wash and clean the pots and other kitchen equipment in the designated area, using the pot wash sink
* To keep all catering facilities clean, according to HACCP specifications.
* Follow all HACCP regulations in relation to food labelling and storage.
* To keep all kitchen and heavy cooking equipment clean.
* To brush, sweep and wash all floors, tiles and ceilings in designated areas of the kitchen, using equipment provided in kitchen areas.
* To ensure that all the equipment and stores are clean, according to HACCP specifications.
* To ensure that the waste disposal area is at all times clean, disinfected and odourless.
Candidate Criteria/ Key Competencies
* Flexible, team focused approach with understanding of good customer service standards
* Previous experience preferred
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent time keeping
* You should be reliable, trustworthy and a good timekeeper
Candidates should be available to work parttime hours over a 7-day week. Weekends and Bank Holidays are included.
The position offers attractive day time hours.
