Job Title: Industrial Automation Specialist
A leading cement manufacturer is seeking an experienced Industrial Automation Specialist to join its technical team.
The successful candidate will be based in a state-of-the-art facility and will report to the Engineering Manager.
About the Company
This organization has manufactured cement for over 85 years and operates two cement-manufacturing facilities, one at Platin, approximately 5km from Drogheda, Co. Louth and a second in Castlemungret, Co. Limerick.
Production uses advanced technology to create high-quality cements to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the position are to provide professional engineering services, including but not limited to:
- Responsibility for the Siemens PCS7 central control system to ensure efficient operation and effectiveness.
- Network ownership, responsible for all servers and control system software and communication.
- Design and programming of software for projects and plant modifications as required.
- Software modifications, fault finding, PID loop set-up and tuning, and assistance to engineers on control systems issues.
- Commissioning and signal checking for projects and plant modifications.
- Maintenance of operator stations and plant visualisation software.
- Coordinate the uploading of new software and upgrades where necessary.
Requirements / Qualifications
Candidates should ideally possess:
- A minimum of 5 years' relevant hands-on experience in industry together with a degree or similar qualification in a technical engineering related discipline.
- Experience of PCS7, Step 7, Simatic Manager and WinCC.
- Experience with Windows operating systems, security and network configuration.
- Experience with PLC programming languages: CFC, FBD and STL.
- Some exposure to SQL and a high-level programming language.
- Knowledge of system archiving/restoration and OT cyber security tools and practices.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Proven technical skills and business acumen.
