Title of vacancy

The Role:

The Sales Manager will be a highly driven travel industry professional with a proven track record in sales and business development with an emphasis upon North America and the Australasian markets for proposal development and the European market for in-market sales activity. The individual must be instinctively results driven and commercial with an ability to manage key relationships and convert corporate and incentive business. An excellent knowledge of the Ireland incentive product offering is a distinct advantage with a general knowledge of DMC services inbound into Ireland being essential.


Core duties

* Any agreed sales and marketing activities, either in Ireland or in the overseas marketplace (desk-based activities, site inspections, familiarisation trips or direct agent/client sales trips).
* Maintain a clear and accurate reporting of sales outcomes and activities measured against the Sales Plan.
* Preparation and presentation of proposed client experiences and programmes for Business Meetings, Incentives and Events; liaising with the client to win business for Ireland and Moloney & Kelly.
* Maintain and build rapport with customers and prospects to form long-term relationships built on trust.
* Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and coordinate development of sales proposals.
* Development of costing models for confirmed programmes, including securing supplier services and negotiating rates.
* Lead client site inspection trips and represent Moloney & Kelly on company-led familiarisation visits where appropriate.
* Ensure that all funding applications are processed and submitted.
* Assist colleagues and Sales with proposals, costs and presentations.
* Develop awareness of industry dynamics, emerging opportunities and competitive trends; communicate findings to the Director of Sales.
* Manage and maintain the CRM database, including creating new accounts and logging detailed notes and opportunities.
* Supervise and support staff/trainees in the Incentive Department as required.
* Support marketing activities within the incentive department including managing social media accounts and content creation for ezines/website.
* Assist the Abbey Group with environmental and responsible tourism initiatives.
* May work evenings and weekends as required.
* Other duties as assigned by Manager or Director (may be in another department).
* Report to the Director of Sales and, in their absence, the Director of Operations, Moloney & Kelly.
* Some international travel will be required in compliance with the company’s Business Travel Policy.


Requirements

* 3rd level qualification in Tourism, Business or Languages or relevant experience
* Very good knowledge of MS Office
* Fluency in verbal and written English
* Excellent knowledge of Ireland as an Incentive destination
* Motivated self-starter with a passion for business development and client care plus a commitment to delivering services to the highest level
* Excellent organisational and staff management skills with good attention to detail
* Commercial drive and ability to work to identified key performance indicators
* Client-focused, friendly and diplomatic
* Team player and able to work in a busy environment
* Willingness to travel – in Ireland and overseas markets
* Full driving license (not required but beneficial)
