* Support the full system build lifecycle, including architecture design, standards development, coding practices, testing, deployment, and documentation.
* Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimise existing SCADA platforms to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.
Architecture and System Scaling
* Design scalable SCADA architectures capable of supporting full production lifecycles across multiple lines and sites.
* Develop and implement standardised templates, UDTs, and reusable components to enable efficient system scaling.
* Assess system performance, load, and data flow, identifying bottlenecks and implementing enterprise-level improvements.
Integration and Automation
* Integrate SCADA systems with PLCs, historians, MES, ERP, and IIoT platforms.
* Support and implement industrial communication standards including OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and SQL.
* Develop structured data pipelines with consistent tagging, naming conventions, and asset models.
Technical Leadership and Collaboration
* Provide senior-level technical guidance to automation engineers, technicians, and cross-functional stakeholders.
* Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices across Ignition development and SCADA lifecycle management.
* Collaborate with production, quality, and IT teams to ensure solutions align with operational, data integrity, and compliance requirements.
Lifecycle and Production Support
* Support systems through design, commissioning, production, and maintenance phases.
* Develop and support preventive maintenance strategies for SCADA and IIoT infrastructure.
* Participate in root cause analysis, deviation investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
* 5–8 years of experience in SCADA or industrial automation environments.
* Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition, including large-scale or enterprise deployments.
* Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, and Ethernet/IP.
* Experience integrating SCADA systems with PLC platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, or equivalent.
* Strong SQL and database design skills, with experience working with historians.
* Proven ability to design and support scalable, multi-site SCADA architectures.
