Assembly Fitter - Cookstown
An opportunity has arisen for an Assembly Fitter to join a well-established engineering operation in the Cookstown area. This hands-on role will involve assembling, installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment used within industrial and mining environments. Working to high quality and safety standards, the successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring reliable and efficient plant operations.
About the role:
* Up to £17.00 per hour
* Monday to Thursday (8am- 5pm) / Friday (8am- 2pm)
* Department: Maintenance / Engineering
* Permanent role
What you'll be doing in this role:
* Assemble, install, align, and dismantle mechanical equipment such as pumps, conveyors, crushers, gearboxes, valves, and pipework
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems
* Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs efficiently
* Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments accurately
* Carry out fabrication, fitting, and basic welding or cutting when required
* Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company procedures
What you'll need for this role:
* Experience in mechanic fitting
* Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics
* Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
