Responsibilities for EHS Manager
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) strategy aligned with business activities, ensuring full compliance with legislative, licensing, and certification requirements.
2. Maintain robust EHS management systems and documentation, including Safety Statements, compliance reviews, investigations, non-conformity management, risk assessments, and environmental compliance reports.
3. Provide technical support to operations across multiple assets, ensuring adherence to environmental permits, sustainability compliance, effluent monitoring, and discharge management requirements.
4. Liaise with regulatory authorities such as the EPA and HSA, as well as accreditation bodies, to maintain recognised standards across the organisation.
5. Lead reporting and engagement with the Senior Leadership team and Board Health & Safety committee, driving continuous improvement initiatives and system enhancements.
6. Promote and embed a strong safety culture across the organisation, ensuring effective communication systems and fostering accountability at all levels.
7. Establish and lead an effective EHS team structure, ensuring ongoing professional development, succession planning, and readiness to adapt to evolving regulatory requirements.
8. Support EHS compliance and licensing requirements associated with the renewable energy pipeline, as well as H&S support for the recycling business during transition processes.
Requirements for EHS Manager
9. Minimum Level 8 qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental, or a related discipline, with IOSH membership.
10. 8-10 years' senior management experience in EHS, with a proven ability to influence both senior leadership and operational teams.
11. Strong understanding of EHS compliance for large-scale energy infrastructure assets across development and operational stages.
12. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive a positive safety culture.
13. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex EHS concepts clearly to varied audiences.
14. Strategic mindset with the ability to identify long-term EHS risks and opportunities, and deliver practical, solutions-focused improvements.
