ACCPRO has partnered with a leading development company to recruit for a Financial Accountant. This is an initial contract role with a view to permanency. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience in a similar role and some experience in construction, building or real estate would be an advantage.
This role is fully onsite. Contract to perm.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L and balance sheets, and contribute to Board reporting with clear variance analysis
* Support month-end close and consolidated reporting across multiple construction projects
* Assist with annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance against targets and supporting cost control initiatives
* Manage construction finance processes, including invoice processing, GRNs, three-way matching, and project valuations
* Oversee supplier and subcontractor creditors, payment runs, reconciliations, aged balances, and retention releases
* Ensure compliance with tax and statutory obligations, including VAT, RCT, and Principal Contractor requirements
* Manage intercompany accounting and support group reporting and settlements
* Identify and recommend system and process improvements in collaboration with senior finance leadership
Requirements:
* Qualified accountant
* 3-5 years financial accounting experience
* Proven track record of monthly management accounts preparation and financial reporting
* Familiarity with project accounting, cost control, and work-in-progress reporting is an advantage
* Strong communications skills
* Team player
