Speech and Language Therapist Medforce are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist in a Portlaoise Primary Care Centre to provide high-quality Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to children with communication, speech, language, and feeding/swallowing needs within the Portlaoise Primary Care Service. The therapist will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary care team and support families, educational settings, and other relevant stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for children. This role is open to both Staff and Senior grades. Responsibilities of Speech and Language Therapist Deliver evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for children with speech, language, communication, and (where appropriate) feeding difficulties. Manage a caseload in line with service priorities, waiting list protocols, and clinical governance requirements. Provide individual and group interventions within clinic, community, preschool, and school settings as appropriate. Develop and implement tailored therapy plans in collaboration with parents, caregivers, and other professionals. Maintain clinical records and documentation in accordance with HSE policies and professional standards. Participate in multidisciplinary assessments including developmental, ASD, and early intervention pathways. Provide parent training programmes and capacity-building supports for families and professionals. Comply with Health and Social Care Professionals Council (CORU) requirements for professional registration. Participate in continuous professional development (CPD) and maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in paediatric SLT. Adhere to HSE policies including safeguarding, infection control, health and safety, and risk management. Contribute to service development initiatives, audits, and quality improvement projects. Provide supervision to students or junior staff (for Senior Grade roles). Requirements of Speech and Language Therapist A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy approved by CORU. Current registration (or eligibility for registration) with CORU as a Speech and Language Therapist. Experience Staff Grade: Clinical placement or paid experience working with paediatric populations. Senior Grade: A minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience, including significant experience in paediatric practice within community or primary care settings. #MEDAHP
