Job Summary
To provide high-quality care to residents in a nursing home setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist clients with daily living tasks, including washing, toileting, dressing, and undressing.
* Provide emotional and spiritual support to clients.
* Monitor clients with limited mobility or physical/learning difficulties and assist them as needed.
* Closely monitor clients who may be confused or have behavioral problems.
* Assist in promoting continence and caring for clients who are dying or have a progressive illness.
* Participate in social activities and help clients continue with hobbies and interests.
* Answer the nurse call system and respond promptly to client needs.
* Report on the wellbeing of clients under the supervision of senior care staff.
* Carry out regular checks on clients as determined by senior staff members.
* Make visitors feel welcome and provide refreshments or assistance as needed.
* Ensure rooms are clean and tidy, and commodes are empty in line with waste disposal policies.
* Clean and maintain equipment used by clients.
* Respect the privacy and dignity of clients, especially during end-of-life care.
* Assist clients during meal times and practice good hygiene.
* Escort clients on outings and ensure their safety at all times.
* Use discretion when dealing with clients' personal and financial affairs.
