We are seeking a Staff Design Engineer at our Global R&D Innovation Centre in Cork, Ireland, to work on the next generation of surgical devices.
Job Description
As a Staff Design Engineer, you will:
* Work on mechanical design for devices used by surgeons and surgical staff to plan and perform procedures.
* Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver devices from concept to launch.
* Design, develop, refine, and evaluate mechanical components, assemblies, or subsystems for medical devices and implants.
* Execute product development projects and work on technical aspects of product commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
* Independently research, design, develop, modify, and verify components, modules, and sub-systems for medical devices.
* Translate user needs to design inputs/specifications and produce complex system-level designs.
* Conduct or design advanced prototyping and testing.
* Analyze and correct complex product design issues.
Business Responsibilities
* Apply knowledge of customer needs, market offerings, and clinical procedures to author design inputs.
* Support Voice of Customer sessions and demonstrate financial acumen.
* Lead creation and refinement of engineering documentation.
General Responsibilities
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
* Identify and support improvements to procedures, policies, and processes.
* Deliver high-quality results and meet business priorities.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
* 4+ years of mechanical design work experience.
* Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams.
